Almaty. December 26. Silkroadnews – Checkpoint of Khorgos accounts for more than 50% of Xinjiang’s fruit and vegetables exports, Chinese media reports.

Since the beginning of this year Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (northwest China) exported more than 85.6 thousand tonnes of fruits and vegetables to the Central Asian countries, out of these 55% of fruits and vegetables exports have been carried out through the checkpoint of Khorgos.

Export to Kazakhstan via Khorgos has made more than 80 thousand tonnes of fruits (mainly apples, peaches and tangerines) this year.

According to the officials, such growth of agricultural exports through Khorgos became possible due to improvement in logistics and storage and transport conditions, as well as measures on simplification formalities of customs clearance.
