Almaty. July 18. Silkroadnews – China actively grows number of seaports abroad, Russian newspaper Vedomosti reports.
“Striving to become a maritime power, China actively invests into ports abroad. Over the six months of this year Chinese companies announced the purchase of or investments in nine ports for a total amount of $20.1 billion, a study by the London investment bank Grisons Peak shows”, report said.
The negotiations, as reported, are also being carried out on investing in a number of other ports, the costs of the projects have not yet been disclosed.
According to the Financial Times, a year ago China’s investment into projects related to foreign ports amounted to $9.97 billion.
