China aims to take on the role of peacemaker in Afghanistan

The corresponding statement was made by Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the end of the tripartite conference in Kabul, which was attended by the Pakistani delegation. The main theme of the conference was the situation in the region in the context of the withdrawal of Western troops.
"Wang Yi said that Afghanistan still needs the support of the international community. According to him, China is ready for the role of mediator in the unification of the country", - said in a statement released on Friday.
