China and Australia have agreed to open new flights

Almaty. April 18. Silkroadnews – Australia’s department of tourism and China’s international airline “Air China” signed in Shanghai a memorandum of understanding on cooperation on the new three-year project, the Chinese mass-media reported.

In particular, “Air China” will open new flights linking the Chinese cities of Chengdu and Shenzhen with the Australian cities.

As He Zhigang, the head of “Air China” marketing, said, as the bilateral free trade agreement between China and Australia comes into effect, the number of air routes between two countries grows.

According to the Australian side’s statistics, the number of Chinese citizens traveling to Australia exceeded 1 million people in 2015. China has already become one of the most important tourist sources to this country.

The Shanghai customs department reports that for the first two months after the bilateral Free Trade Agreement dated December 20, 2015, entered into force, 406 batches of Australian beef and 327 batches of Australian seafood to the value of 170 million yuan and 73.117 million yuan respectively have been imported through the Shanghai checkpoint in China.
