China and Colombia signed a series of cooperation documents

Almaty. May 22. Silkroadnews - Premier Li Keqiang met in Bogota with the President of Colombia Juan Manuel Santos, reported Xinhua news agency.
"China will focus on cooperation in the development of production facilities and production equipment. China also welcomes the participation of companies of developed countries in this process and will actively expand the cooperation with third countries to help Colombia in advancing the process of industrialization", - said Li.Keqiang.
According to him, the Chinese government encourages domestic enterprises to actively participate in the construction of infrastructure in Colombia, in particular roads, subway lines and ports. China has also expressed willingness to provide financial support to cooperation projects with Colombia.
In turn, M. Santos mentioned that in 35 years, bilateral relations of two states have developed favorably.
"Colombia welcomes the active participation of the Chinese side in the construction of Colombian infrastructure, in particular roads, subways, airports and ports, as well as in the construction of economic zones. Colombia is also pleased to cooperate with China in the areas of capacity expansion, equipment manufacturing and agriculture", - said Mr. Santos.
He stressed the need to strengthen financial cooperation and to apply the experience of China in the field of finance and investment.
According to him, Colombia is ready to expand cooperation with China in the field of tourism and welcomes Chinese tourists visiting the country and wish to create for this purpose all favorable conditions.
"The parties have agreed to start a feasibility study for a bilateral free trade agreement and consultations on signing an agreement on avoidance of double taxation", - assured the president.
After the meeting, the two leaders attended the signing ceremony of cooperation documents. The two sides also issued a joint statement by the Governments of China and Colombia.
