Almaty. September 14. Silkroadnews – China and Georgia signed a free trade agreement, Chinese media reported.
«Completion of the negotiation process and execution of a free trade agreement with China is a historic milestone», said the Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili.

According to him, the talks ended in a short time and a 1.4 billion consumers market is now open for Georgia.

The head of the Georgian state also said that despite this year plan to export to China 2.5 million bottles of wine, the eight months’ data shows the export volume has exceeded 3.5 million.

«We completed our negotiations with China in seven months. This means the world's largest market with 1.4 billion consumers is now open for the Georgian products and Georgian wine will be admitted to the PRC without any customs duties. We are developing a network of Georgian wine stores in China and believe China will become one of the leading directions for diversification of not only wine, but also for many other products. I believe it will be important for the development of the new Silk Road», G. Kvirikashvili summarized.
