China and Japan agreed to safeguard stability in the East China Sea

Almaty. September 16. Silkroadnews – The fifth round of China-Japan high-level consultations on maritime affairs was held in the Japanese city of Hiroshima on September 14-15, the newspaper «People's Daily» reports.

«The two sides exchanged views on the East China Sea and discussed the ways to enhance cooperation on their sea-related policies. They also agreed to devote themselves to safeguarding the peace and stability in the East China Sea and continue to push forward the exchanges between the defense ministries of the two countries», the publication says.

Participants exchanged views on the principle of consensus on the East China Sea issues and agreed in principle to hold the six round of high-level consultations on maritime affairs in China within the year.
