Almaty. March 27. Silkroadnews – At the end of April New Zealand and China will begin negotiations to update the bilateral free trade agreement, TASS reports.

“This will serve as a serious impetus to strengthen trade ties between two states and send a positive message to the region and the world about our mutual commitment to free trade”, Premier Li Keqiang said.

New Zealand and China entered into a trade agreement in 2008, and now it was decided to review certain provisions of the document.

“By 2020 the updated agreement is expected to raise the bilateral trade volume from current 23 billion to 30 billion of New Zealand dollars (from $16.1 billion to $21 billion)”, New Zealand Prime Minister Bill English said.
