China and Turkey to cooperate in fight against terrorism

Almaty. August 4. Silkroadnews – China and Turkey will cooperate in provision of security and fighting against terrorism, information portal China news informs.
China expressed gratitude to Turkey for the decision to classify the Islamic Movement of East Turkestan as a terrorist organization this Thursday, the report said.
It is noted that during the meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu, both sides agreed that antiterrorist cooperation and common security are the fundamental interests of both countries.
According to Wang Yi, China firmly supports Turkey’s defense of its national sovereignty, security and stability. In his turn M. Cavusoglu said that Turkey regards China’s security as its own and will never allow any activity in Turkey to jeopardize China’s sovereignty and security.
Both sides, as reported, agreed to improve cooperation and coordination between the Chinese program “One Belt, One Road” and the Turkish “Middle Corridor plan”.  
The sides also discussed the issue of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and, Wang Yi stressed that the only way out is peaceful negotiations.
M. Cavusoglu was on official visit to China from Wednesday to Thursday. During the visit, he and Wang Yi participated in the second meeting of the consultative mechanism of the Foreign Ministers of China and Turkey.
