Almaty. September 22. Silkroadnews – China and the U.S. to undertake “good preparations” for Trump’s visit to China, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi said, Channel News Asia reported.
““Good preparations” should be made by China and the United States to ensure that U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit to China later this year is a success, Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi told U.S. Vice President Mike Pence,” the report said.
According to Wang Yi, good preparations will help to achieve concrete results and give new impetus to bilateral ties.
It is noted that China’s relations with the United States has been strained following criticism of China’s trade practices by Trump’s administration together with call for more efforts to pressure North Korea. Moreover, the Trump administration threatens new sanctions against China’s banks and companies in business with Pyongyang.
In its turn, China said that it was doing all it can to pressure North Korea and advised countries directly involved in confrontation on the peninsula to take responsibility for resolving tensions.
As the channel reminds, Trump is expected to visit China in November as a part of his trip to the ASEAN summit in the Philippines and the APEC conference in Vietnam.
