China and Ukraine have agreed to simplify visa regime

Almaty. May 12. Silkroadnews – Ukraine and China will make efforts to simplify the visa regime, the newspaper “People’s Daily” informs.

“The decision has been taken following the results of consultations between the heads of the consular services of Ukraine and the PRC. The parties have achieved an agreement in principle on the mutual steps to simplify the regime for the countries’ citizens, worked out the key areas of joint actions regarding visa procedures liberalization,” the publication states.

According to the adviser on tourism of Ukraine’s ministry of economic development and trade Alexei Evchenko, about 5 thousand Chinese tourists visited Ukraine in 2014, in 2015 the number grew up to around 11 thousand. The expert says this tourist direction is not that popular among the Chinese citizens mainly due to the complexity and high cost of visas registration process.
