China builds the world’s longest coastal road

Almaty. August 3. Silkroadnews – China will have the longest coastal road in the world, the Chinese newspaper Nanfang Daily reported.
A 1600-kilometer coastal road, as reported, is planned to be built in southern China to connect 14 coastal cities and 90 tourist attractions.
“The upcoming project will comprise 600km of upgraded road pavement and over 1,000km of newly-constructed roads”, the publication reads.  
The construction of the Zhanjiang section is planned to start before 2018, this section, spanning more than 500km, will take up about one third of the total length of the road.
The proposed route, as expected, will become the world’s longest coastal road outrunning California State Route 1 in the US and highway 1 in Australia.
According to publication, travelling along the new route will take you seven days.
