China called the EU to facilitate trade and investment liberalization conditions

Almaty. July 14. Silkroadnews – Chinese Premier Li Keqiang called for mutual openness, improved terms of trade and investment liberalization between China and the European Union at the China-EU business summit, TASS reports.

“China and Europe can offer more opportunities to each other against the backdrop of a sluggish global economic recovery,” he said addressing the meeting.

To better align their strategies, he suggested to use the China-EU 2020 Strategic Agenda and also called for appropriate approach to solve trade disputes, resist trade barriers and facilitate work on a comprehensive China-EU investment agreement.

“Li Keqiang encouraged European companies to invest more in modern Chinese industry, service sector, as well as the western regions of China. He also promised to continue the foreign investment management system reform, facilitate easing access to the Chinese market and strengthen intellectual property protection, as urged by the European partners,” TASS reported.

European Council President Donald Tusk, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, High Representative of European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and European Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmström took part in the talks held in Beijing.
