China can become an investor in construction of hydroelectric power stations in Belarus

Almaty. June 23. Silkroadnews – China has been invited to become an investor in the construction of a hydroelectric power station on the Western Dvina, BelTA informs.
“Currently the Chinese side considers a pilot list of Belarusian organizations with preliminary terms for the Chinese investors to join the share capital”, the publication reads.
A list of 20 joint-stock companies includes two republican unitary enterprises and investment project for the construction of a hydroelectric power station on the Western Dvina river. The list was submitted for consideration to the central and local state enterprises of China.
In the meantime, meeting with delegation of the representative office of the China Merchants Group in Central Asia and Baltic region headed by the general representative of the office Hu Zheng, Andrei Gayev, Chairman of Belarus’ State Property Committee, noted the work will proceed to attract the Chinese investors to take part in the share capital of Belarusian organizations.
The head of the Chinese delegation expressed a desire to intensify work with the Belarusian ministries to involve the Belarusian enterprises joining the number of residents of the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park “Great stone”.
According to Andrey Gayev, among the enterprises in the pilot list invited to enter the industrial park as its residents there are OJSC “Promsvyaz” and OJSC “Minsk heating equipment plant”.
Chinese corporation “Zongsheng” shows interest in OJSC “Gomselmash”. Beijing has already hosted negotiations between the minister of industry of Belarus Vitaly Vovk and the chief investment officer of the Chinese company. As a result of the talks, Belarus’ embassy in China have submitted to the ministry of industry the materials provided by “Zongshen” corporation.
The work is carried out to determine the terms of cooperation. Belarus’ State Property Committee also informed that the draft decree “On transformation of the republican unitary enterprise” was developed to provide for RUE “Of the Order of the Red Banner of Labor “Institute “BELGOSPROEKT””” transition into an open joint-stock company in 2017, to be founded by Belarus and Beijing Jianyi Invesment Development (Group) Co. Ltd (China).
