China conducted the first flight of a new military transport aircraft

Almaty. July 8. Silkroadnews – The air forces of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army conducted the first flight of new heavy military transport aircraft “Yun-20” designed and built in China, PLA Air Force press service reported.

Maximum take-off weight of multi-function aircraft “Yun-20” is about 200 tons. The aircraft has been designed by China’s own forces and intended for the transportation of personnel, equipment and cargo over long distances in adverse weather conditions.

The aircraft coming into operation demonstrates an important breakthrough China made in the production of domestic aircraft to perform tasks on strategic transportation and transformation of the PLA Air Force.

“Yun-20” shall improve the country’s potential in responses to emergency and critical incidents, disaster management and humanitarian assistance. The aircraft shall also enhance China’s armed forces abilities in their mission performance.
