China has allocated more than $83 million to help flood victims

Almaty. July 12. Silkroadnews – China has allocated 560 million yuan ($83.7 million) to help victims of flooding in several regions in the Yangtze River basin, TASS reports.

In particular, the funds are allocated for Anhui, Guizhou, Hubei and Hunan provinces. Cash resources administration will be carried out jointly by China’s Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Civil Affairs.

The funds allocated shall go to help the evacuated residents of regions, reconstruct the houses destroyed and pay the monetary compensation to the families of people died.

As of Monday, the data says 2.9 million people were evacuated in the provinces affected by floods.

According to the authorities, since March of this year 161 people died and 61 are missing as a result of the floods caused by heavy rains in the Yangtze River basin. The most serious floods covered several provinces in early July. The disaster’s direct economic losses are estimated at 67 billion yuan ($10 billion).
