China has announced its readiness to participate in construction of railway Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan

Almaty. October 26. Silkroadnews – President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimukhamedov met with the Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong, Trend wrote.

For the recent years the parties have successfully implemented important joint projects, including the construction of the longest in Eurasia gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to China “serving as a key factor of energy security in Asia and giving additional impetus to the continental economic ties development”.

During the meeting the participants also noted the role of the railway China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran, on which the container train made its first test run at the beginning of this year.

In addition, the Chinese ambassador stressed the importance of the project on construction of the railway  Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan, which will then be stretched to China as well.

“The Chinese side fully supports this significant initiative by the Turkmen leader and is ready to participate actively in its implementation”, diplomat said.
