China has launched the space station «Tiangong-2»

Almaty. September 16. Silkroadnews – China has placed into orbit its second space lab «Tiangong-2», Chinese media reported.

The launch was carried out from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center located in the Gobi Desert. Soon «Shenzou 11» spaceship is planned to deliver there two astronauts and dock with the station for a «medium-range shift».

«Shenzhou 11» launch has been scheduled for mid-October. The mission is planned to last for about a month.

«Tiangong-2» is the second Chinese space lab adapted for astronauts to live and work. Earlier the USSR/Russia and US used such technologies only.

«Tiangong-1» was launched in 2011 and stopped sending data to Earth in March. The module is expected to make an uncontrolled re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere in late 2017.
