Almaty. June 1. Silkroadnews - Ministry of Housing, Urban and Rural Construction of China has required the widespread promotion of the construction of the so-called "city-sponge" with target to achieve in these cities accumulation and use of 70% of rainwater, reported Xinhua news agency.
It is estimated that the construction of these cities will take about 150 million yuan ($24.5 million) of investments for the 1 km2.
"City-sponge" - a figurative name, and internationally accepted term for such environmentally friendly technologies - "the construction of rainwater harvesting systems with low environmental impact".
