Almaty. April 26. Silkroadnews – China launched its first aircraft carrier of its own design, Russian office of BBC writes.
As noted, this is the second aircraft carrier after the Liaoning, though the first designed by China. The ship was taken out of the dock and slipped into the sea in the port of Dalian in the north-east of the country.
The new aircraft carrier is a much modernized version of Liaoning built 25 years ago.
Work on the aircraft carrier started in 2013. Earlier it was reported that it would be put into operation in 2020.
