"State management of defense science, technology and industry in China on Wednesday held a ceremony of transmission of meteorological satellite "Fengyun-2G" located in the orbit, to the Office for Meteorology of China", - says the publication.
As noted, the introduction of a new weather satellite will improve the accuracy of weather forecasts and provide early warning of natural disasters such as tropical storms, heavy rains, fog, sand, dust storms and forest fires.
"Fengyun-2" - the first generation of meteorological satellites operating in geostationary orbit. Currently there are four orbiting satellites of the series.
