China-Mongolia Expo to open in Inner Mongolia on September 26

Almaty. August 2. Silkroadnews – The China-Mongolia Expo will be held from September 26 to 30 to improve the economic ties between two states, Xinhua news agency reports.
“The second China-Mongolia Expo will serve as an important platform to improve economic cooperation and cultural exchange between China and Mongolia, the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said Tuesday. The biennial event, scheduled for September 26 to 30 in Hohhot, capital of China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region”, the report said.
It is explained that the event is held every two years.
“The biennial event will help promote China-Mongolia economic ties to a high level and improve cooperation among northeast Asian nations at large, Qian Keming, vice-minister of the MOC, said at a press briefing.
"The event, which takes place every two years, will not only improve the level of economic ties between China and Mongolia, but will also promote cooperation between the countries of Northeast Asia as a whole”, said Deputy Minister of Ministry of Commerce Qian Kemin at a briefing on the Expo.
China is said to be Mongolia’s largest trading partner for more than ten years. In the first half of 2017, bilateral trade grew 44.2% year-on-year up to $3.1 billion. There has also been a steady increase in Chinese investment in Mongolia. By this June China’s direct non-financial investments in Mongolia reached $4.1 billion. The two sides also intend to strengthen cooperation in infrastructure, livestock and mineral resources.
Publication reports, “over 2,000 delegates from China, Mongolia and Russia will attend the expo to carry out pragmatic cooperation to strengthen economic ties, Ai Lihua, vice-chairman of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, said at the briefing”.
