Almaty. September 28. Silkroadnews – China opposes any official contacts and military ties between the United States and Taiwan, China News reported.
“China resolutely opposes any official contact and military links between the United States and Taiwan, Ma Xiaoguang, spokesman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office,” the report said.
It is noted that Ma made his comments when asked about the US National Defense Authorization Act, which contains provisions on cooperation between warships of Taiwan and the United States.
“The Taiwan issue concerns China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and is also the most important and sensitive issue in China-U.S. relations,” Ma has been quoted saying.
Ma also stressed that China’s position on this issue remains clear and consistent.
