Almaty. April 9. Silkriadnews - China plans to build a pipeline to deliver natural gas from Iran to Pakistan. The relevant agreement will be signed during the visit of President Xi Jinping in Islamabad, transmits foreign media.
In this case, oil minister of Pakistan Shahid Abbasi Haq said that "the process has begun".
It is noted that the construction of the pipeline became possible after the negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program. Earlier, the US threatened Pakistan with sanctions if it will continue projects with Iran.
According to the publication, the pipeline is extremely necessary for Pakistan, which suffers from a lack of electricity due to lack of fuel. Pakistan is in talks to build a gas pipeline, which will cost about $2 billion, in a few months.
Tehran says that its part of the pipeline is ready for a long time and waiting for the start of construction on the territory of Pakistan.
