China plans to build in Kyrgyzstan a chain of hydroelectric power plant with 1160 MW capacity

Almaty. April 19. Silkroadnews – China’s National energy investment corporation plans to build a cascade of hydropower stations with 1160 MW capacity in Kyrgyzstan, the newspaper “People’s Daily” reports.

The corporation representative said about that during the meeting with Kyrgyzstan’s deputy prime minister Oleg Pankratov.

He also noted the corporation examined in detail the potential and prospects of hydropower development in Kyrgyzstan and is ready to implement the project for the construction of hydro power plants with an annual output of 4.66 billion kW/h of electricity. The company is working to prepare the relevant documents.

According to the corporation representative, the Chinese investors are interested in Kyrgyzstan’s hydropower industry.
