China plans to extend the weekends duration up to 2.5 days for the purpose of tourism development
Almaty. February 12. Silkroadnews - China plans to increase the duration of the weekend up to 2.5 days to encourage the tourism development, the China Daily information portal reports.
“The State Administration of Tourism offers a new plan, according to which by the summer of 2016 the duration of weekend will be extended to 2.5 days. According to the project authors, it will enable people to spend more time with their families and encourage the development of tourism,” - the publication says.
It is noted that the longer weekend will only be available for the certain categories of working people and only in summer. It is also emphasized that the long summer holiday shall in no way affect the performance of enterprises and organizations, and the employees are not exempt from their obligation to work 40 hours a week. Thus, those wishing to use the extra time of rest shall increase their number of working hours during the working days.
