Almaty. June 10. Silkroadnews - Launch of the first Chinese satellite communication with the electric motor is planned for 2020. This was reported in the Chinese Research Institute of Space Technology (CRIST),reported the newspaper "People's Daily".
"China has developed its own technology for the creation of electric motors for satellites after the United States, Russia, Europe and Japan. In the future, the country will become a new player in the international market of electrical communication satellites", - says the publication.
According to the deputy chief designer of the communications satellites of CRIST Wang Min, launched in 2020 will be a communications satellite designed to provide broadband data services in the country and neighboring regions.
In addition, by the end of 2016, China is preparing to launch a communications satellite, equipped with chemical and electric propulsion. This electric motors will be used on future Chinese space station.
The use of electric motors will reduce the weight of the spacecraft, fuel consumption and the cost of launch, said W.Min.
Scientists predict that the design life of the satellite communication with the electric motor will be 18-20 years, which is 3-5 years higher than the life of current devices.
At this point to the space were launched five vehicles with electric motors. In particular, the Japanese satellite "Hayabusa" that successfully returned to the Earth from the surface of the asteroid with taking soil samples.
As it became known, CRIST put a target by 2020 to develop a 50 kW electric motor. A 300-ton spaceship, equipped with 40 such motors will make binding from Earth to Mars in about 200 days.
