Almaty. August 11. Silkroadnews – By 2030 China plans to raise gas imports almost fourfold times up to 270 billion cubic meters compared to $53 billion totaled in 2015, TASS reports with reference to CNPC.

“Increase in the gas supplies from abroad enables China to shift toward cleaner energy sources. This process is an important part of the country’s industrial sector and economic reforms transformation”, China National Petroleum Corporation reported.

One of the reasons behind China’s gas consumption growth is an agreement with the U.S. In November 2014 Washington and Beijing agreed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by nearly a third over the next 20 years. Thus, since 2030 China stops growing emissions.
