China plans to switch to “green” processing industry by 2020
Almaty. July 19. Silkroadnews – China plans to switch to “green” processing industry by 2020, Xinhua reported.
“A “green” processing industry to serve as a new driver of economic growth and a new component of the Chinese economy’s competitiveness in the global market to be formed by 2020”, stated 2016-2020 program for “green” development of the industrial sector released by China’s Ministry of industry and Information Technology on Monday.
According to the department officials, so far the Chinese industry could not completely abandon the development model as characterized by large-scale investments, high energy consumption and emissions. The move toward the “green” system is called to be an “urgent task”.
The ministry official believes that by 2020 the “green” development concept shall be implemented in all the processing industries and stages of production as a universal principle. At the same time this implementation shall be accompanied by all the necessary incentive mechanisms established.
“According to the program issued the best efforts shall be made for “green” products development. The level of production of electric vehicles and equipment using solar, wind and other new energy sources shall rise significantly; “green” industries offering energy-saving and environmentally friendly products and services shall become new drivers for economic growth,” the agency notes.
The program also provides for creation of hundreds of techno-parks and thousands of such plants to serve as benchmarks, as well as the formation of a “green” supply chain for major processing industries.
