“China is planning to green 70% of all trips to be made in the downtown area of its major cities by 2020, said a document on green commuting issued by the country’s Ministry of Transport,” the agency reported.
According to publication, some positive achievements have been made in this direction in the last five years, yet transport field in China still has a space for improvement, including the infrastructure and transition to clean fuels fields.
The country aims to create an environmentally friendly transport system with low carbon emissions and high efficiency by 2020.
It is expected that the number of new environmental clean vehicles will reach 600,000, with 70% of land and 80% of freight transport to become more environmentally friendly.
In addition, emissions of carbon dioxide in the transport sector are planned to be reduced by 7% compared to 2015.
The country also plans to implement a number of environmentally friendly infrastructure projects, and implement a series of projects to restore the environment.
