Beijing. June 19. Silkroadnews - According to the country’s medical authorities, use of antibiotics in China has decreased to 7.7% in outpatient services and 36.8% in inpatient services in 2017, Xinhua reports.
Guo Yanzhong from the National Health Commission said China has been improving the clinical use of medicines, and the overall situation with antibiotic resistance remains stable.
As a result of excessive use of antibiotics, drug-resistant super bacteria have become one of the major problems for global public health.
The Chinese authorities have required to strengthen control over prescribing of antibiotics for children, the elderly and pregnant women.
According to the commission, it is necessary to raise the level of knowledge and correct use of antibiotics among the medical personnel and the public.
