China’s business confidence index shows growth in Q2

Beijing. June 18. Silkroadnews - Business confidence among Chinese entrepreneurs continued to improve in the second quarter of the year, a central bank survey showed, Sina.com reports.
According to the People’s Bank of China, the business confidence index rises for the ninth consecutive quarter, up to 75.8 in the second quarter from 74.2 in the first quarter.
Another study by the People’s Bank showed that the confidence of bankers in the economic situation decreased slightly after rising for nine quarters, dropping from 81.9 in the first quarter to 81.2 in the second quarter.
About 76.1% of the surveyed bankers believe that the current monetary policy was moderate, compared with 73.2% in the first quarter.
Of the surveyed 20,000 urban households in 50 cities, 44.7% expected housing prices to remain stable between July and September, while 36.5% said they expect housing prices to rise.
Some 27.7 percent of the households surveyed expected consumer prices to rise during the following quarter, while 53.7 percent of them expected the prices to remain stable, the agency wrote citing the survey by the People’s Bank.
