Almaty. October 21. Silkroadnews - The People's Bank of China (Central bank) on Wednesday for the first time placed in London promissory notes denominated in yuan, reported the agency TASS.
"The volume of the issue amounted to 5 billion yuan ($786 million), its yield was set at 3.1%, and the maturity is one year", - says the publication, citing the statement of the Central Bank.
According to the expert of one of the Chinese banks, "this arrangement was an important step towards the internationalization of the RMB and makes yuan more attractive for use as a reserve currency".

Senior researcher of the Institute of Economics under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Pei Changhong believes that the placement of promissory notes by the Central Bank of China in London increases the chances of inclusion of the yuan in the basket of SDR (Special Drawing Rights).
