China's foreign trade still experiences a downward trend pressure, profile department experts say

Silkroadnews – The difficulties the Chinese foreign trade observes are not the short-term, the number of uncertainty and instability factors continues to grow, the pressure of the downward trends in foreign trade is still quite strong, Ministry of Commerce spokesman Shen Danyang said, «Xinhua» agency reports.

According to Shen Danyang, in the first eight months of the year the total volume of China's foreign trade decreased 1.8%, including 1% decrease in exports, and 2.9% in imports. The situation still remains not optimistic and quite tough.

He notes, during this period the number of investigations against the Chinese products has grown by 49%. A total of 20 countries and regions conducted 85 such investigations, the total amount of the assets involved made $10.321 billion with 94% growth. In particular, U.S. conducted 15 investigations against 337 kinds of Chinese-made products.

According to customs statistics, this August the exports and imports grew 5.9% and 10.8% respectively. The simultaneous increase in both indicators was observed for the first time since November, 2014.

China's foreign trade retains a tendency to stabilize. Later this year Ministry of Commerce will continue to implement government measures to reduce the due burden on enterprises, Shen Danyang said.
