Almaty. October 16. Silkroadnews – China’s former justice minister has been expelled from the Communist Party for corruption, The Asahi Shimbun newspaper reported.
“A former Chinese justice minister has been expelled from the ruling Communist Party following an investigation by the anti-corruption watchdog,” the report said.
It is noted that 65-year-old Wu Aiying was Minister of Justice from 2005 to February this year, and was one of the few high-ranking female officials in China.
In a communiqué published on Saturday after a four-day plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, her name was on the list of a number of officials to have been expelled from the party for graft.
“The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection found that Wu had “serious discipline problems,” the communique said using a euphemism for corruption, but gave no other details,” the report reads.
According to publication, Wu had spent most of her career in eastern Shandong Province, where she became deputy head of the Provincial Party Committee before moving to Beijing in late 2003 to work for the Ministry of Justice.
