China’s gas demand expected to double within next 5 years

Almaty. June 11. Silkroadnews – China’s gas demand is expected to double within next 5 years. This was reported by the Russian BBC Service which was quoting International Energy Agency.
“These estimates are explained by the fast-paced growth of Chinese economy and attempts of this country to switch to cleaner energy sources. That is, its bid to switch from coal to gas”, the message states.
China is to remain one of the main gas importers. However, domestic gas production is to satisfy half of its demand. This includes shale gas.
