China’s imports and exports value to Belt and Road countries grew in 2017

Beijing. January 15. Silkroadnews - The value of China’s imports and exports to the countries of Belt and Road initiative rose in 2017, the “People’s Daily” newspaper reports.
“China’s value of imports and exports to Belt and Road countries rose by 17.8 percent in 2017 on a year-on-year basis,” the report said.
In 2017, China’s imports and exports to the Belt and Road countries reached 7.37 trillion yuan ($1.14 trillion), which is a 17.8% increase year-on-year, making 26.5% of the country’s total value of imports and exports.
“The Belt and Road Initiative complies with the requirements of the era and Belt and Road countries’ wishes to accelerate development, which, therefore, will contribute to trade among the en-route countries,” the agency quoted Huang Songping, spokesperson for the General Administration of Customs, saying.
Huang also added, China will continue to strengthen cooperation with the countries involved in the initiative, optimize services related to customs control, and actively participate in development of international trade rules to create an open global economy.
