China’s Ministry of Commerce: China-UK economic cooperation has a huge potential

Beijing. January 19. Silkroadnews - A spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce of China Gao Feng said the economic and trade cooperation between China and the UK has a huge potential for development, the Global Times writes.
“Britain is an important economic and trade partner of China in Europe,” Gao Feng said.
In 2017, bilateral trade rose 6.2% to $79.03 billion, while China’s exports to the UK increased 1.8%, and imports from the UK grew 19.4%.
British investment in China reached $1.5 billion, and China’s non-financial investment into the UK reached $1.53 billion.
“We are now pushing for the creation of a committee of entrepreneurs from China and Britain,” Gao said, adding that a meeting of the trade working group was held to expand trade and investment opportunities. “Both sides will also seek to make new achievements in corporate cooperation in the financial, innovation, telecom, new energy and other fields.”
