China’s population size to amount to 1.45 billion people in 2030

Almaty. March 13. Silkroadnews – China’s population size will peak at 1.45 billion people in 2030 and then start decreasing, deputy minister in charge of the National Health and Family Planning of the People’s Republic of China Wang Pei’an said.

“China does not have a problem of deficit of people and will hardly run into such problem in the next 100 years. By 2030 the country’s population is expected to peak at 1.45 billion people, by 2050 the population size will stand at 1.4 billion, and by the end of the century the number of citizens in China will decrease to 1.1 billion people. In such a situation the issues of education of the population and structural disproportions become especially important for us”, TASS quotes the Chinese official saying.

At the end of 2016 China’s population base amounted to 1.382 billion, which is 8 million more compared to 2015. With this the working age population (16-60 years) at the end of 2016 amounted to 907.47 million people, i.e. 65.6% of the total population.
