China’s Supreme Court urged to intensify fight against Internet fraud
Almaty. August 11. Silkroadnews – The Supreme People’s Court of China called to strengthen fight against Internet fraud, Xinhua news agency reported.
The statement said, that Chinese courts will pay more attention to combating Internet crime in the financing field to ensure the sector’s healthy development. The Supreme People’s Court of China issued a directive emphasizing need to strengthen the fight against illegal online fundraising as a key to financial risks control.
The courts, when judging such cases, should coordinate their actions with local authorities to protect the offended party’s interests.
The directive is said to pay special attention to cases involving the illegal attraction of deposits from citizens and fraudulent collection of funds under the innovation financing guise, as well as to include instructions on how to handle civil claims for financial disputes.
According to the publication, more than 16,400 people in China were prosecuted for various financial crimes in 2016.
