China shut down 3,908 websites for copyright infringement
Beijing. February 26. Silkroadnews - China’s copyright watchdog said that 3,908 websites have been shut down in a crackdown on copyright infringement in the past five years, China Daily reported.
The National Copyright Administration investigated 22,568 cases of piracy across the country and deleted more than 6 million links to pirated publications during that period.
For 13 years, the administration has carried out monitoring in cooperation with other departments, studying the observance of copyrights on online literature, music, video, games, animation and software, as well as mobile applications, cloud storage and e-commerce platforms.
Violation of copyright on the Internet was suppressed, and public awareness of copyright protection has improved significantly.
