China started preparations for official visit of President of Zimbabwe
Beijing. March 3. Silkroadnews - Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Huang Ping met with President Mnangagwa to discuss his forthcoming official visit to China next month, Zimbabwe’s The Herald reported.
“We met the President before his State visit to China and now we are doing everything to make sure that his trip is a successful one. We had a very nice talk and we touched on a number of things we need to work together so we could have a successful and fruitful visit,” the agency quoted Huang Ping saying.
President of China Mr. Xi Jinping invited President Mnangagwa to visit China after he became president in November of last year after the resignation of the former President Cde Robert Mugabe.
China was the first country to send a special envoy to congratulate President Mnangagwa after he took over as the head of the state.
China and Zimbabwe have strong bilateral relations dating back to the days of the liberation struggle. China supported Zimbabwe after the illegal sanctions imposed by Western countries and also provided assistance and loans to Zimbabwe for various infrastructure development programs, from electricity generation and road construction to water supply and sanitation.
