China started the construction of the high-altitude airport in Xinjiang
Almaty. November 23. Silkroadnews - China launched the project for the construction of the highest in the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region (XUAR) Airport in Tashkurgan-Tajik Autonomous County on the Pamir Plateau, reported Xinhua news agency.
"The Civil Aviation Authority of China instructed the China International consulting company to choose in the district of Kashgar 3 places for the construction of the civil airport in Tashkurgan, as a preliminary version offering the Aktamu town", - said in a statement on Sunday, referring to the Committee of Development and Reform of Xinjiang.
Currently in the world there are 42 high-altitude airport (at an altitude of 2438 m), of which 15 are in China. Tashkurgan will be the third high-altitude airport in Kashgar district after airports Kashgar and Yarkand.
