“China is tightening security for next month’s twice-a-decade Communist Party Congress, canceling police leave in Beijing, limiting tourism to Tibet and clamping down on the spread of political rumors,” the report said.

The reason behind such a move is a large number of migrants gathered at the market. Also, some factories and restaurants will be temporarily closed to reduce the level of air pollution.

The congress in Beijing is expected to gather around 2,000 delegates, the participants will stay at the hotels around the city, and security measures will only intensify as the opening of the congress approaches.
“Security has been heightened at ports along the Yangtze River, with the Maritime Safety Administration saying last week that it was considering curbs on loading and unloading hazardous or flammable chemicals from October 11th to Oct 28th,” the report reads.
According to the publication, some travel agencies reported a temporary ban on travel of foreign tourists to Tibet, though travel to Tibet always was restricted for foreigners and required a special permission.
The control over cybersecurity will also be strengthened.
As a whole, as noted, the security measures will be strengthened not only in Beijing, but also in some other regions of China.
