Almaty. June 28. Silkroadnews – China submitted implementation plan on sanctions against North Korea to the UN Security Council, TASS reports.

“We were told China has sent the appropriate document in the UN Security Council Sanctions Committee,” governmental official of the Republic of Korea said, Yonhap news agency reported.

At the same time, he could not tell what specific steps this document provides for. It is also not clear whether the document will be made public, as it depends on the side that has prepared it.

According to the agency, by this time the appropriate plans have been submitted to the sanctions committee by 35 countries, including the US, UK, Russia and France.

On March 2 the UN Security Council unanimously adopted resolution 2270 to intensify sanctions against North Korea in response to Pyongyang’s nuclear test and missile launch with a satellite.  It provides for a ban on country’s imports of coal, iron ore, titanium, vanadium, gold and other precious metals, as well as embargo on deliveries of aviation and rocket fuel to the country. The document also introduces sanctions against the banking sector, mandatory inspections of goods and targeted measures against persons and entities related to nuclear and missile programs. In addition, the Republic of Korea and several other countries have introduced unilateral restrictions against North Korea.
