Almaty. December 25. Silkroadnews - China has successfully tested the world’s largest amphibious plane, Australian television channel SBS reports.
“China has successfully tested the world's largest amphibious aircraft, with state media broadcasting its maiden flight live on television,” the report said.
It is reported that the AG600 aircraft has a length of 37 meters and a wingspan of 38.8 meters, which corresponds to the level of Boeing 737.
The plane left Zhuhai airport in the southern province of Guangdong, near the South China Sea, and landed there again in an hour.
According to China Global Television Network, the development of the aircraft took almost eight years and was carried out by the state Aviation Industry Corporation of China.
Aircraft AG600 will be used primarily to deal with forest fires and carry out rescue operations at sea.
