China successfully used drone for artificial rain enhancement
Almaty. December 26. Silkroadnews - China successfully used drone for artificial rain enhancement, Chinese information portal CRI Online reported.
“China’s first artificial rain enhancement operation using an unmanned flying drone has been successful completed,” the report said.
The experiment was conducted by the Shaanxi Zhongtian Rocket Technology Company and was the first successful attempt to perform cloud seeding to trigger precipitation under complex weather conditions. The experiment reveals the potential of the unmanned aerial vehicles technology to be further used in rain enhancement operations.
According to the publication, the drone has an effective flight time of 125 to 250 minutes with a maximum payload of 50 kilograms. The unmanned aerial vehicle can be controlled in real time by operators on the ground.
Compared to the conventional rein enhancement methods using ground cannons and manned aircraft to disperse chemicals to create clouds, drones have the advantages of both long flight times and the ability to work under complex weather conditions.
