China to become an educational center for the Asia-Pacific region by 2020

Almaty. February 2. Silkroadnews – According to the program of the Ministry of Education of China and other state’s departments, by 2020 China will become an important educational center in the Asia-Pacific region, the newspaper “People’s Daily” informs.

“The point in case is about raising the attractiveness of China for foreign graduate students”, publication says.

The program says, the number of students at the Chinese graduate programs is expected to increase moderately in the coming years and reach 2.9 million people, with share of foreign graduate students to reach 3%.

The department officials say, studying at the postgraduate training programs will partly be provided out of the state budgets and individual enterprises, yet in the near future the system will undergo some changes. It is also noted that the supervisors will bear greater responsibility for their training graduate students’ performance and it will be taken into account when evaluating their work.
