Almaty. October 30. Silkroadnews - China intends to create a state anti-corruption commission next year, The Straits Times reports.
“China aims to pass a national supervision law and set up a new commission next year to oversee an expansion of President Xi Jinping's campaign to fight corruption in the ruling Communist Party and government,” the report said.
It is noted that the newly appointed head of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection Zhao Leji said that the new commission should secure a “sweeping victory” in the fight against corruption, and create an institutional legal framework that would make corruption impossible among officials.
The new National Supervision Commission will reportedly work together with the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and expand the scope of the anti-graft campaign, providing supervision not only for party members, but also for those who are not necessarily party members.
According to the publication, since 2012, almost 1.4 million party members have been punished for corruption.
