Beijing. February 21. Silkroadnews - The Education Office of the Consulate General of China in San Francisco said it has been ready to accept applications for scholarships from students in Alaska, Xinhua reports.
The Governor of Alaska Bill Walker announced the allocation of 20 scholarships, which will be provided to Alaskans interested to continue their education in China.
The recipient of the scholarships “will explore higher education through a variety of academic programs in science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, law, economics, management, education, liberal arts, philosophy, history, and fine arts,” the publication cites a statement by Walker’s office.
Scholarships are a part of the Chinese government’s scholarship program for international students, teachers and scholars to study and conduct research in 279 Chinese universities.
In September 2017, China announced that in five years, it would allocate 100 scholarships for students from Alaska for higher education or long-term research in China.
The program is implemented within the framework of cooperation between China and Alaska in various fields, including trade, investment, energy, fishing and tourism.
